Looking to elevate the humble bar snack to new heights in a cook-off and tasting at Ember Yard, an impressive list of restaurants and chefs have signed up to take part in this inaugural contest in September.
Contestants, including Salt Yard, Social Wine & Tapas, The Modern Pantry, Brindisa Tapas Soho, Oldroyd, Aqua Nueva, Duende, Copita, Barrica, Camino, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen, Riding House Café, Señor Ceviche, and Jose Pizarro – will all be ready to flex their culinary muscles in front of a judging panel of renowned food writers and journalists in an event open to the public in celebration of this popular small plate.
Hosted by chef director Ben Tish, the competition will see each chef present their favourite croquetas recipe to the panel, with entries varying from traditional choices such as Croquetas de Jamon, to more wonderfully unusual creations such as Oxtail, Apricot and Peanut; Aubergine and Goat’s Cheese with Crystallised Acacia Honey and Rosemary; and Smoked Eel, Horseradish and Beetroot.
The Croquetas Challenge will take place from 6pm on Tuesday 6th September at Ember Yard. Tickets are £15 per person and include a welcome drink and a chance to try all of the entries!
